Got up front early and stayed the hell out of trouble...

And by the end of lap #1 it was me and my arch-nemesis (not really, though) off the front with a healthy cushion of 30+ seconds on the other 34 riders.
I rode out front for most of the race...
And he rode out front for a lap or two.
But i couldn't seem to make my super-duper-awesome-last-lap attack come together...
So i crossed the finish line in a blur of oncoming cramps and drymouth, just a few seconds shy of the enemy.I could give you the "woulda, coulda, shoulda" shpiel - but he was the better rider on the day.
Oh well, maybe i'll get 'em next time... at least i still won beer

Better rider? Bullcrap, last time I checked Team Bearclaw only hires the BEST and he wasn't on TBC!
Chet says "Win or you're off the team". I suggest you stop playing nice. No pulling, if you're in front you should be dropping riders... if you aren't dropping riders you shouldn't be in front.
Try shoving a branch in his wheels, or throwing punches.
Maybe in the confusion of the start you could slash some tires.
Oh yeah, sometimes I cut back on the number of hot babes I bang the night before.
I'm not sure if this actually helps though since I always win anyway, but it sounds good.
